The University of Pennsylvania is hiring a Film Archivist/Cataloger. Reporting to the Senior Archivist, the Film Archivist/Cataloger handles the collections management, cataloging, rights coordination, and grant writing needs for the Museum’s film, video, and audio collections. In addition, this part-time position (15 hours/week) collaborates with other entities at the University and within the Museum to coordinate thematic programming involving film and video screenings and occasionally presents aspects of the Museum’s audiovisual collections in presentations, publications, and online.
Qualifications:
BA/BS/ BFA required, MA/ MFA / MLS preferred with specialization in Visual Anthropology; 2-3 years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated knowledge of archival principles, concepts, techniques, and procedures, particularly with respect to audiovisual collections. Advanced computer skills, including database literacy and web-related knowledge. Cataloging experience using DACS , AACR2, national authority files, and MARC . Demonstrated customer service skills, excellent communications skills (both oral and written), and strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lift 25 pounds.
