The following is an instruction diagram on how to do a basic setup with the Blackmagic ATEM 1 M/E Flypack.
- Place all the objects in the appropriate places
- Plug in all the cables for the mobile switcher
- Plug in power cable from Blackmagic ATEM 1 M/E Video Flypack
- Make sure the power switch is enabled on the Monster Power Conditioner
- Plug in power cable from Blackmagic ATEM 1 M/E Audio Flypack
- Make sure the power switch is enabled on the Furman Power Conditioner
- Plug in the power cable to the Blackmagic Atem 1 M/E panel
- Plug in the power cable to the preview monitor (left Asus LCD monitor)
- Plug in the power cable to the program monitor (right Asus LCD monitor)
- Plug in the power cable to the program monitor (Ultrascope Asus LCD monitor)
- Plug in the power cable for the Atem Laptop
- Make sure the Ultracurve Pro is powered on by pressing the power button
- Plug in power cable from Blackmagic ATEM 1 M/E Video Flypack
- Plug in the ethernet cables
- Plug in an ethernet cable from the Blackmagic Atem Panel to the Blackmagic ATEM 1 M/E Video Flypack ethernet port 1
- Plug in an ethernet cable from the Blackmagic Atem Panel to the Atem Laptop
- Power up the Atem Laptop and launch the Atem Program to add graphics to the ATEM switcher and perform other administrative duties
- Plug in the HDMI cables to the Asus Preview / Asus Program Monitor
- Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI 6 port on the Atem Rack #1 to the Program Monitor (Right LCD Screen)
- Connect an HDMI cable from the HDMI 5 port on the Atem Rack #1 to the GUI Monitor (Left LCD Screen)
- Plug in the cables needed for the ultrascope
- Plug in the USB3 cable (blue) into a blue USB3 port on the rear of the Ultrascope PC
- Plug in the keyboard and mouse into the front USB ports on the Ultrascope PC
- Plug in a DVI cable from the ultrascope PC and connect it to the Ultrascope Monitor
- Turn on the ultrascope PC and launch the Ultrascope application
- Connect all of your video inputs
- Connect your video SDI inputs on HD-SDI ports 1-4
- Connect your video HDMI inputs on HDMI ports 1-4
- Connect your audio inputs to the Blackmagic ATEM Audio Flypack
- Connect your XLR inputs to the Alesis inputs 1-3 (note that 2-3 have wireless mics connected via TRS and you can add 2 more XLR inputs by unplugging the other wireless mics)
- Connect your audio outputs from the Blackmagic ATEM Audio Flypack to the video flypack

- Connect your Alesis XLR outputs (TRS to XLR from main out on board) to the Blackmagic Atem Video Flypack XLR input (left is top, right is bottom)
- Format your SSD for usage with the Blackmagic Hyperdeck Studio

- Connect the SSD to the ATEM laptop via the USB adapter
- In Windows 7, go to Computer, right click the drive and choose Format
- In the options, choose the format to be exFAT
- Pop the SSD into the Blackmagic Hyperdeck Studio and be sure that your input is SDI by clicking the Input button
- Press record when you are ready to record
